I did it. I reached peak millennial and made a blog. I’m honestly cringing as I type my first post, and hopefully I will get over that soon, but this has been a long time coming.
I’m here for a few reasons, the most important being I want to prove that I can accomplish at least one new year’s resolution. Aside from my stubbornness, however, I truly want to start keeping track of the things that I cook. Cooking is my escape from the real world — a blur of ingredients, music, alcohol and taste tests — so I tend to work by instinct and never write down what I’m doing. I hope these posts can change that, and the idea of being able to easily share recipes with my friends and family makes me really happy. (I had to retype “recipes” five times before I got the correct spelling, so we’re off to a solid start.)
Before I dive in, I suppose I should use this post to explain the name of my blog. This will most likely be the first and last time I get all sentimental here, but the word “insatiably” actually means something to me. I’m a person of extremes, and when I decide I love something, or want something, it becomes an obsession — I become insatiable.
Ever since I was little, my mother has joked that I suffer from “chronic dissatisfaction” (but that’s not exactly an endearing site name). And why live any other way? I want to cook insatiably, eat insatiably, drink insatiably (this one I tend to regret the most), travel, learn and love insatiably. That sounds like a pretty good life to me.
